The Tamagotchi was one of the most iconic games of the 1990s, revolutionising the way we interacted with technology. We fed, cared for and worried about our virtual pets as if their survival truly depended on us.
Idea
What if we took that concept further—transforming the virtual pet into a real child whose survival genuinely depends on care?
Solution
In collaboration with UNICEF and Cencosud, we created TamagotChild. The gameplay remained familiar, but with a powerful twist: every voluntary donation made to support your virtual child directly helped a real child in need.
Outcome
This idea was developed for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, merging nostalgia, technology and social impact into one meaningful campaign.
